Like the inevitable character in a third of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, I fear I have lost “The Christmas Spirit.” In hopes of finding it, I will be watching a ridiculous number of Christmas movies on TV. Here is my story…
Help for the Holidays (2012) Hallmark Channel
-An elf ear reveal
-Adam’s realization that all of his favorite sci-fi actors are now working pretty exclusively in the made-for-TV holiday romance movie business
-Dare I say good acting all around? Including the children.
-A love interest who is ACTUALLY nice and adorable! (Honestly, John Brotherton is so charming in everything.)
-A sassy, difficult, smart-ass 12 year-old girl, with whom I identify deeply and therefore love.
-Not one, but two Christmas decorating montages!
-A mean dance teacher who straight up tells a child she can’t dance. The whole exchange was truly hilarious.
-Santa giving an elf a speech about her having her own autonomy.
I am so on board for this movie. Highly recommended.
