Like the inevitable character in a third of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, I fear I have lost “The Christmas Spirit.” In hopes of finding it, I will be watching a ridiculous number of Christmas movies on TV. Here is my story…
The Road to Christmas (2006) Lifetime
-Jennifer Grey & Clark Gregg, which is the only reason I’m watching this.
-Clark Gregg is the killing the “dad” game in this one. What a treasure.
-A main character who absolutely cannot FATHOM the town name Ogallala. We get it; you’re a city gal, but Jesus, lady. Have you heard of “Nebraska” or “history” or “American Indians”?
-Clark Gregg helping her pick up her strewn about clothes, and when she asks him not to fondle her underwear, his reply is, “I’m not fondling it. I’m looking at it.” Yeah, I’m not sure that’s much better, creeper.
-About an hour in, this movie takes a drastic turn where the main character & the love interest’s daughter bond over hating middle school because the main character “was a whale” in 8th grade. W.T.A.F?! They said “whale” at least 4 times.
The ending was… unexpected and somewhat abrupt. But since this is a Lifetime movie, it is slightly less predictable than most. This was pretty okay. I barely fast forwarded at all.
