Like the inevitable character in a third of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, I fear I have lost “The Christmas Spirit.” In hopes of finding it, I will be watching a ridiculous number of Christmas movies on TV. Here is my story…
Love Finds Andy Hardy (1938) TCM
-5 minutes in, and I don’t know what’s going on. This is a terrible opening to a movie.
-Ugh, I’m sure these used to be considered jokes, but considering #MeToo was just named Time’s Person of the Year, I’m legitimately surprised TCM even played this movie. And I quote (just one of many, btw):
Her: “Why, Andrew Hardy. You kissed me last night by force!”
Him: “Well, it’s good that way, too.”
Nope. Seven minutes in & I’m out. Yes, I read the description of the movie beforehand, and it was pretty dire, but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. But then it lost it. Bye.
